Benjamin Moeling, Chargé d’Affaires, is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service.

He arrived at the U.S. Mission in Geneva in April, 2021 from Washington, D.C., where he served as the Director of the Office of India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Maldives Affairs in the Department of State’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs.

Mr. Moeling has extensive experience in East Asia and in post-conflict societies. He was the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Tunis, Tunisia 2016-2019, and Chargé d’Affaires / Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan from 2014-2016.

He previously served in Geneva as the Counselor for Humanitarian Affairs from 2011-2014.

Earlier postings include Kandahar, Afghanistan; Beijing, China; Hanoi, Vietnam; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; and Taipei, Taiwan.
