The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service of the U.S. Mission to the WTO was pleased to co-sponsor a unique discussion on the real-world challenges that farmers from around the globe face to safely and sustainably produce food and access export markets. The virtual event took place in Geneva on November 2, 2020 prior to the World Trade Organization (WTO) Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Committee meetings, in collaboration with Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala and Paraguay. The seminar included a presentation of the report: Global Economic Impact of Missing and Low Pesticide Maximum Residue Levels, Vol 1. by the U.S. International Trade Commission, as well as perspectives from FAO and farmers around the world.
