The United States was “heartened by the growing chorus of condemnation” of North Korea and its provocations at an important meeting on nuclear non-proliferation earlier this month. Ambassador Robert Wood, the head of the U.S. delegation to the May 2-12 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Preparatory Committee meeting (NPT PrepCom) in Vienna, said the international community found “common ground” on the DPRK and it was clear that Pyongyang’s actions were of “great concern to the entire community.” Ambassador Wood discussed NPT PrepCom outcomes with international reporters from Asia and Europe during a telephonic press conference organized by the U.S. East Asia and Pacific Media Hub in Kuala Lumpur.
