Three expert speakers that will present include:
- Nicholas Kalaitzandonakes, Agriculture and Applied Economics, University of Missouri will speak on economic and environmental impacts of biotechnology in North America and implications for biotechnology regulation.
- Paulo Paes de Andrade, Department of Genetics at the Pernambuco Federal University in Recife, Brazil will discuss Brazil’s experience and lessons learned in establishing a biotechnology regulatory system with emphasis on the impact on Brazilian agricultural production and trade.
- Margaret Karembu, Director of the AfriCenter for the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Applications will address how science-based public policy can impact food security, poverty reduction and environmental conservation in Africa.
