The U.S. and Norwegian Missions in Geneva on 23 November 2015 hosted a roundtable with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control, Verification, and Compliance Frank Rose and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Norway in Geneva Minister Kjersti Sommerset to discuss the International Partnership for Nuclear Disarmament Verification (IPNDV)—a new initiative to enhance security and stability in an effort to reduce and eliminate nuclear weapons.

Mr. Rose provided further details about the Partnership, which brings together both nuclear-weapon and non-nuclear weapons states under a cooperative framework to find solutions to the challenges involved in the verification of nuclear disarmament, and discussed how it can help strengthen the existing work towards nuclear disarmament verification. Ms. Sommerset provided comments on the second plenary meeting of the IPNDV, held in Oslo, Norway from 16 to 18 November.
