Secretary Kerry Travel to Germany, India, Switzerland, and Bulgaria

Secretary of State John Kerry will stop in Munich, Germany, on Jan. 10 to meet with Sultan Qaboos of Oman to express his gratitude for their long-standing and strong relationship. Secretary Kerry will then travel to Ahmedabad, India, to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Secretary will join leading U.S. business executives and innovators at the Summit to highlight the critical role that U.S. technology plays in supporting sustainable economic growth across India and the Indo-Pacific region, as well as strengthening trade and investment between the two countries. This is the first time the United States will join the event as a partner country.
Secretary Kerry will then travel to Geneva, Switzerland, to meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif on January 14 to have a bilateral meeting to provide guidance to their negotiating teams before their next round of discussions, which begin on January 15.
On January 15, Secretary Kerry will travel to Sofia, Bulgaria, to discuss security cooperation, energy diversification, and the bilateral trade and investment relationship. He will also highlight the importance of rule of law in helping Bulgaria to realize its full potential as a vibrant European democracy.
