Resolution on “Assistance to Somalia in the Field of Human Rights”

The United States welcomes the new institutions in Somalia and the election of President Hassan Sheikh Mahamud as the culmination of the road map process. We hope the resolution will contribute to an improvement in respect for human rights Somalia. We are currently evaluating the status of the new institutions and do not view this resolution as affecting that status.
