GENEVA – December 1, 2010 is World AIDS Day. Through the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the cornerstone of President Obama’s Global Health Initiative (GHI), the U.S. Government is promoting the theme “Building on Success.” The theme reflects the idea that we have a shared responsibility to build on our success to make smart investments that will ultimately save more lives.
We remember those who have lost their lives to AIDS, and we recommit ourselves to fighting and preventing HIV/AIDS and to comforting those infected and their loved ones. The U.S. is working with its partners around the world to turn the tide against HIV/AIDS.
To mark World AIDS Day, the U.S. Mission in Geneva launched a Poster Contest to solicit artwork from youths between the ages of 10 – 20 based on the theme “Building on Success” Click here for more information on the Poster Contest (PDF 101 KB).
