<p><strong>WORK HOURS:</strong> Full-time; 40 hours/week.<br />
<strong><span style="font-size: small;">BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION </span></strong></p>
<p>The incumbent has to perform a combination of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment. Special knowledge of woodworking, including fabrication of basic items as well as repair of furniture, including assembly of modular furniture.</p>
<p>Repairs and maintains mechanical and sanitary installations in the Mission building and government owned or leased residences, repairs wooden office and household furniture, including picture frames.</p>
<p>Moves office equipment and furniture as required, including set up of conference rooms. Performs or directs emergency repairs/services for plumbing installations including appliance hookups. Drives a vehicle to transport equipment, furniture, supplies and tools as needed, other duties as assigned.</p>

<p><strong><span style="font-size: small;">BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION </span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">The incumbent will provide medical care and appropriate health information, advice and disease prevention programs to include but not be limited to general internal medicine to US Direct Hire employees and their dependents. </span></p>
<p>The incumbent has to maintain communication with and evaluate the capabilities of local providers on an ongoing basis and has to serve as a physician consultant to the HU nurses. She/he will diagnose and treat patients as appropriate according to his/her scope of medical practice.</p>
<p>The incumbent has to make recommendations and effect medical evacuation of appropriate patients. And has to provide the Office of Medical Services with program, activities, and statistical reports as directed. She/he will advise patients on health resources in the community and region.<br />

<p><strong>EXAMINATION CRITERIA</strong>: (all must be met) 2010</p>
<p>1. Be no more than 32 years old as of December 31, 2010 (UN requirement).</p>
<p>2. Have at least an undergraduate degree (advanced degree is an advantage, but is not required) in one of the following occupational fields or related areas:</p>
<p>* Administration</p>
<p>* Demography</p>
<p>* Economics</p>
<p>* Human Rights</p>
<p>* Legal Affairs</p>
<p>* Radio Producer (only for Arabic, Chinese, and French)</p>
<p>* Security</p>
<p>* Statistics</p>
<p>* Web Design/Development</p>
<p>3. Be fluent in English and/or French, the two working languages of the Secretariat. Knowledge of additional official languages of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish) could be an advantage.</p>
<p>NOTE: Admission to the exam may be limited to the 40 most qualified Americans per occupational group.</p>
