New Satellite Storm Warning System for Central America

Vice Admiral Conrad C. Lautenbacher, Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, José Achache, Director of the Secretariat Group on Earth Observations, Jacqueline E. Schafer, Assistant Administrator at the U.S. Agency for International Development (L-R) announce the launch of a new satellite-based storm warning system that will help protect vulnerable populations in Central America and the Caribbean.   The system is a joint venture between NASA, NOAA, USAID and GEO, and will soon be expanded to cover East Africa.

48th session of the Committee on the Rights of the Child - CROC

Representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations visited US Mission Geneva on May 21 to meet with members of the U.S. Delegation to the CROC. The delegation answered questions regarding the involvement of children in armed conflict and the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography.
