About the U.S. Delegation to the CD

The U.S. Delegation represents the United States at the Conference on Disarmament, the world's principal multilateral non-proliferation and disarmament negotiating forum.  The CD meets each year in Geneva for a three-part annual session to consider and negotiate multilateral arms control and disarmament treaties.  A key U.S. objective within the CD at the current time is the negotiation of a Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty.  The U.S. Representative to the Conference on Disarmament also leads the U.S. Delegation to the United Nations First Committee (Disarmament) at its annual meetings in October.
