Bi-Partisan Congressional Support for Ambassador William Lacy Swing |
A career diplomat, Bill Swing served as Ambassador six times under five U.S. Presidents from both parties. As illustrated in the attached letter signed by senior members of the U.S. Congress, Ambassador Swing and his candidacy for Director General of IOM have the unreserved support, confidence, and respect of both Democrats and Republicans. Democratic Senators Leahy and Kennedy, and Republican Senator Lugar, are each long-time advocates for and supporters of refugee and migrant affairs and play leading roles in the authorization and funding of humanitarian and migration programs by the U.S. Government.
